In this ethereal capture of a volcanic cave at sunrise, photographer Robbie Lawrence masters the use of light and shadow to evoke the emotion of the painted brushstroke. It’s this same interplay of light and dark that informed architecture firm K Studio’s approach to this stunning vertical landscape. Here, carved into a cliffside on Santorini, the award-winning Athens-based team drew on the simplicity of white cement and a dappling of dark stone to create Vora, a living sculpture that flows above the water.
